The trip last week to Costco was fun! I ran into the BIG teddy bears that you took a picture of Krew with Brecken not too long ago! :) We also have Walmart and Sam's Club here as well! :)
This weekend myself, Elder Johnson, Nãin and my friend that is a member, all fasted for Nãin to receive an answer as to if he should be baptized this weekend. He has some concerns like he want's to be 100% ready. We all feel he is more than ready, but he personally doesn't want to be baptized and then fall away shortly after. I have been praying for him a LOT. The work here is going, slowly but surely. We are teaching others, they just aren't as far along as Nãin.
(When asked if he knew who won the Presidential election) Of course I heard that Trump won the election, I hear it everyday!!!
(Preston's home ward and stake had major boundary changes this past Sunday. Our ward shrunk in size, lost some really strong families, two new wards were created, we will be attending church now at the stake center, we will go at a new time of 10:30am-1:30pm, but his dad is still the bishop and our ward name stayed the same)
As for all the changes, all I can say is WOW!!! That's crazy dad!! It's kinda hard to understand all the changes and keep them straight through email, but you can explain it more come Christmas! haha Super sad that the Herrons aren't in the same ward. That's what I'm gonna miss most! But, Jacob is still in the same ward!!!! At least he is staying! Crazy that all this is changing just 8 months before I come home! hahaha That means my homecoming talk will be in the stake center! I've never given a talk there! I'm already scared!! :O
Changes (transfers) are next Monday There are 18 new missionaries arriving, 17 of which are elders. Honestly, Johnson and I think he is leaving, maybe he will train or be a District Leader. I really want Johnson to have his first baptism here, but we think he will be going.
We had a zone activity today. We went bowling, and that's why I'm emailing late. I had like 4-5 strikes between the two games, and had some cool splits and a few spares.
Love your missionary,
Elder Fowler
This week's scripture to "Ponderize":
Doctrine & Covenants 100:4-8
4 Therefore, I, the Lord, have suffered you to come unto this place; for thus it was expedient in me for the salvation of souls.
5 Therefore, verily I say unto you, lift up your voices unto this people; speak the thoughts that I shall put into your hearts, and you shall not be confounded before men;
7 But a commandment I give unto you, that ye shall declare whatsoever thing ye declare in my name, in solemnity of heart, in the spirit of meekness, in all things.
8 And I give unto you this promise, that inasmuch as ye do this the Holy Ghost shall be shed forth in bearing record unto all things whatsoever ye shall say.
(At Costco with their investigator friend Nain. How sweet is her for taking them there!) |
Costco in Chihuahua, Mexico |
(Looks pretty similar to the Costco's in America) |
(Notice the Photo-Bommer in the background; yep, that's our boy!) |
At the bowling alley for a zone activity. |
Elder Fowler, Elder Gibson (I had to ask him about his shirt-he said he bought it when he was in the canyons) |
Elder Fowler, Elder Nicoll |
(At the end of this video, he says, "Almost" in Spanish. He
was really hoping for a strike!)
(Preston's score is the top row...score: 134) |
Good sign, but missing an "s" for the word HAND(S) |
(Thank you Brenda Johnson for these two pictures, I believe that this is when Elder Fowler and Elder Johnson are teaching an English class; love that they have a Dr. Seuss book in the background) |
